Mr. Heermans is a former felony prosecutor, trying dozens of criminal cases, from DUI to Aggravated Assault, to both Judge and jury. Prior to focusing solely on social security disability, Heermans has been a civil litigator, a criminal defense attorney, a felony prosecutor, and a special victims prosecutor.

Mr. Heermans believes that the years he spent fighting in courtrooms, litigating high-stakes lawsuits, and trying serious criminal cases gives him an advantage when it comes to advocating on behalf of his social security clients.
